The Access Gap I Could Not Ignore

The Access Gap I Could Not Ignore
There is a quiet gap in women’s health that most people do not see.
It is not about information.
It is about access.
Women know more about hormones today than ever before.
They listen to podcasts.
They read books.
They follow experts.
But when it comes to actually receiving care, the path becomes far less clear.
Where Women Get Stuck
The pattern is familiar.
A woman begins experiencing symptoms.
Fatigue.
Mood changes.
Sleep disruption.
Cycle changes.
She seeks support.
But what she often finds is:
• long waiting lists
• brief appointments
• symptoms dismissed as normal
• prescriptions offered without explanation
• or no treatment offered at all
Women are left holding knowledge without access to action.
The Cost of the Gap
The access gap creates frustration and distrust.
Women start searching elsewhere.
They turn to:
• online protocols
• expensive supplement stacks
• conflicting advice
• trial and error solutions
Sometimes this works.
Often it does not.
The deeper issue is that women should not have to navigate their health like a research project.
Why This Matters in Midlife
This gap becomes most visible in perimenopause.
Symptoms can begin years before menopause.
They fluctuate.
They affect work, relationships and confidence.
Yet many women are told they are too young for support or that symptoms are simply part of ageing.
When access is delayed, women carry unnecessary suffering.
What Needs to Change
Closing the access gap requires more than awareness.
It requires systems that allow women to receive:
• informed medical guidance
• clear education
• hormone informed lifestyle support
• consistent follow up
Women’s health should not be fragmented between isolated pieces of advice.
It should be integrated.
Why This Became Personal
Working with women over the past decade, I kept hearing the same frustration.
They were willing to do the work.
They wanted to understand their bodies.
But they could not find support that brought physiology, psychology and clinical care together.
Ignoring that gap felt impossible.
What’s Next?
Until the wider system improves, the most powerful thing we can do is build strong foundations.
Inside my 12 week Hormone Coaching Container we focus on the controllable factors that influence hormonal health. Energy availability, muscle, sleep, stress and behavioural patterns.
These foundations do not replace medical care. They prepare your body to respond when access becomes available.
If you want to start strengthening your system rather than waiting for the perfect pathway, you can explore the programme below.
