The Non Negotiables of Evidence Based Women’s Health Coaching
Women do not need more noise.
They do not need trend based protocols, aesthetic driven plans or performative empowerment.
They need coaching that understands physiology, psychology and the real demands of their lives.
Evidence based women’s health coaching is not about memorising studies.
It is about knowing where evidence applies, where it does not, and what must never be compromised.
There are non negotiables.
Non Negotiable One: Energy Availability Comes First
You cannot coach body composition, performance or hormonal balance in a chronic deficit.
Low energy availability disrupts:
• reproductive hormones
• thyroid output
• bone health
• mood regulation
• recovery capacity
Before chasing fat loss, we assess:
Are you eating enough.
Are you fuelling training properly.
Are you sleeping adequately.
Are you over extending yourself.
If energy is not stable, nothing else is.
Non Negotiable Two: Muscle Is Foundational
Muscle is not optional in women’s health. It is protective.
It improves:
• insulin sensitivity
• bone density
• metabolic resilience
• cognitive health
• long term independence
An evidence based coach prioritises resistance training over endless cardio, particularly in midlife.
We build strength first.
Aesthetics follow physiology.
Non Negotiable Three: Nervous System Safety
Hormones respond to perceived safety.
Chronic stress elevates cortisol, impairs sleep and disrupts appetite regulation. No protocol overrides a dysregulated nervous system.
Evidence based coaching includes:
• stress load assessment
• sleep hygiene
• workload boundaries
• recovery periods
• psychological safety
Without regulation, compliance becomes burnout.
Non Negotiable Four: Individual Context
There is no universal female template.
Cycle phase.
Perimenopause.
Menopause.
Postpartum.
Athletic background.
Trauma history.
Medical conditions.
Evidence must be applied, not copied.
A protocol that works in one context may be inappropriate in another.
Coaching without context is guessing.
Non Negotiable Five: Medical Boundaries
Women deserve coaches who understand scope.
Evidence based coaching recognises when:
• PMDD requires medical assessment
• thyroid dysfunction needs clinical investigation
• RED S is suspected
• bone density risk is present
• mental health support is required
Good coaching does not replace medical care.
It works alongside it.
Non Negotiable Six: Behaviour Over Hype
There is strong evidence for:
• adequate protein intake
• progressive resistance training
• sufficient sleep
• stable blood sugar
• reducing chronic stress
There is weak or inconsistent evidence for:
• extreme detoxes
• blanket supplement stacks
• rigid cycle syncing
• aesthetic driven deprivation
Evidence based coaching prioritises repeatable behaviours over dramatic interventions.
The Standard Women Deserve
Women have spent years being under researched, over marketed to and misunderstood.
Evidence based women’s health coaching means:
No fear based messaging.
No shaming normal physiology.
No selling fragility.
No pretending every symptom is hormonal chaos.
It means precision.
Nuance.
Honesty.
And the humility to say, we do not know everything.
The Hard Truth
If a programme relies on urgency, restriction and aesthetic pressure to create compliance, it is not evidence based. It is marketing.
Women deserve better than being treated as smaller men or complicated problems to fix.
They deserve coaching that understands their biology and respects their intelligence.
